C25K Day Eight

Today was the first time my knees hurt while I ran. It was only the first 90 seconds and I just kept telling myself to keep going. Then it stopped. The last three minute run...wait for it...I felt like I could keep going. Ahhhh!

I'm still here!

I'm still doing my Couch 2-5K! Just this morning I did week 3, day 2! I also did the 30 day shred with Biggest Loser's Jillian Michals...Wow, that workout is intense! I have not posted in a while...I don't have a cool graph to show! The more I run, the more I'm enjoying it. For one, its MY time. There are days I cannot get out early or need to help out so I take a child in the jogger (we don't have a double jogger...not sure I'd want one anyway, one is heavy enough) I have been making every attempt to get out and do this alone and it feels so great! Even though my partner lives in NC I am glad to have someone doing it with me!

C25K Day Seven

I had an absolutely HORRIBLE day today, so I decided to RUN. I was really nervous about this week, because of the 3 minutes of solid running...but, I DID IT! I ran the whole time he told me to run! WAHOOOOOOOO!!! (And, yes, my horrible day is now not so horrible. I left it all on the pavement. So corny, I know, but oh so true!!)

HEY BETH!!! How are you doing on this??? I am so proud of you!!!!

C25K Day Six

Whew....first, I did it! Second, it was H.A.R.D. Ryan said it was because the air is heavy (we are about to get severe storms for the next three days). But, I did it, and clearly it was my best, most consistent run of the week! :) WEEK TWO DONE!!!!!!!!!

C25K Day Five

Ryan went with me today!  I found myself being able to breathe a little better and recover faster.  A couple of times during the running, I kept saying to myself...can you believe it?!?  You are r.u.n.n.i.n.g. :)

C25K Day Four

I DID IT!  Week Two-Day 4 of running is DONE!  Whoo hoo!  Go me :)  I was really not sure about this one because Ryan stayed up a little late and wasn't able to go with me, and it was 90 seconds of running.  90.  Whew.  I DID IT!  The first 90 were the hardest, and then after that, I kept focusing on a lamppost in the distance and that got me through it!

C25K Day Three

I did it!  This morning I had volunteered to walk at the JDRF walk for one of the teachers at my school.  Even though it was a walk, I decided to go ahead and record it!  It was slow because it was at the amusement part and there were sooooo many people there.  But, I walked 3.3 miles, no problem.  I was noticing how some people around me were really winded.  Not to poop on them because I am sure that was their most difficult thing, I was just saying that for me, I have noticed a difference in being able to go farther without problems.

When I got home, I ate and took a little nap....okay....a LONG nap.  I took an allergy pill this morning and I think it made me tired!  When I got up, I told Ryan we needed to run.  He didn't really want to, so I was just going to go.  Well, that made him feel guilty, so he tied his laces and off we went.  We didn't go yesterday, because he had his end of phase and is so stressed, he didn't want to be tired.  It was hard, but I think the fact that I walked this morning and it was the afternoon, not the morning made a difference.  When I plugged in the iPod.  my mouth dropped at the graph.  Ryan is used to running and knew that we did it faster, but I had no idea!!!
So, here I shout!  WEEK ONE OF A RUNNING PROGRAM DONE!  Me.  little me.  Running.  WOW!

Week One...DONE

I got up this morning and did my couch 2-5 K week one, day three! It was a little difficult in some ways, in others it was great. I went alone, no child in a jogger. I think I bought shoes that are not the best for me. Those things are SO expensive. I should be able to return them to the store...if not, they aren't terrible and may just need some getting used to. I have stayed in points since Mon. Yay!!!

C25K Day Two

WE DID IT!

I nearly had myself talked out of going this morning, I was soooo tired, but the thought of having to do it after a long day at work seemed even less appealing, so I got up.  Ryan followed!  We did it!  It was WAY harder than the first day, but we finished it.  Did I mention that we finished?

Hey Bethers--I am PROUD of you!!!  Thanks for all your encouragement!

C25K Day One

We did it!

Ryan and I got up this morning and ran Day One of Couch to 5K!  I felt great!

The podcast helped me more than anything, because I was able to keep a pace and know that someone was eventually going to tell me to walk again! :)

Thanks Beth and Ryan for motivating me!

So proud!

I am so proud of my sisser!

I think that a new start is in all of us, and like she said, if that is what it continues to take to make sure this journey is continued, then that is what it takes.

I think what we have to keep in mind is that this is a lifestyle, a habit.  That involves breaking old lifestyles, old habits!  We CAN do it!

I downloaded the Couch to 5K on my iPhone and I am going to start tomorrow.  I am a little nervous about it, but excited at the same time!  I know that Beth will encourage me just as I hope I do her!

Day One down for Beth!  WAY TO GO!

A New Start

I feel like I have to keep giving myself a new start. If that is what it takes, so be it. I am very encouraged! Tomorrow I will begin counting points, following weight watchers. Today I started the Couch2-5K program! I feel awesome! I did my week 1, day 1 with Chloe in the jogger and I felt so comfortable! I downloaded the program to my ipod and with music, it tells you when to run and when to walk. Can't wait to do some more.
